Every October, parishes across the diocese obtain a head count at all Sunday masses in order to determine how many parishioners attend weekend masses.

The 2011 October Mass Count indicates that 58,875 people attended parish Masses on Saturday evening and Sunday on four weekends in October 2011, namely, October 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, and 29-30.
This is a decrease of 1080 people (–1.8%) from October 2010. This is a decrease of 25,533 people (-30.25%) since 1996.
