Sanctuary Shrines

The side shrine reredos are also made of Portoro marble and are decorated with mosaic images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Joseph with Child. The mosaics are immediately bordered by the same gold floral motif that borders the Immaculate Conception mosaic with an outer border decorated with the Greek key. Like the original high altar, the side shrines are decorated with mosaic panels of religious symbols.
