Carlos Tejeda, Director
Carlos is married to his wonderful wife Elena. He is the youngest of 4 children and was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He finished his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Science after serving in the US Army. Beginning in 2003 he worked for the US Forest Service as a wild land firefighter as well as an arborist and salesman in California. The Lord did not allow him to remain in any of those professions; rather through a restless heart Carlos was called to enroll in graduate studies at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Washington, D.C. Thanks to the wonderful support of his wife, Carlos was able to earn his graduate degree (Master of Theological Studies) in May, 2010 while assisting Elena in her position as Coordinator of Marriage Preparation and NFP for the Archdiocese of Washington. During the first year and a half of Carlos' time in the D.C. metro area he enjoyed an internship with the Natural Family Planning office of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Tejedas are members of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Springfield and enjoy taking walks, watching movies and reading, visiting with friends, playing with their son, nieces and nephews as well as spending time with other family members. They are also both instructors of the Couple to Couple League symptom-thermal method of Natural Family Planning. Carlos is very thankful to be a part of the Diocesan Marriage and Family Life Office and he looks forward to meeting as many of the families in the Diocese as possible in the coming years! Please let him know how he can help you, your family or your parish.
