Becoming A Facilitator or Coordinator

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Protecting God's Children facilitator or coordinator. Please review the requirments below for each position and complete the initial interest form and a member of our staff will contact you with more information.

New Facilitators

We'll need more trained facilitators of the Protecting God's Children program to be able to train all volunteers. Advising parishes to have more trained facilitators of the Virtus® Protecting God's Children Training Program per parish or parish group.

Recommendations:

  • 2,500 or more parishioners - A minimum of 3 trained facilitators
  • 1,000 – 2,499 parishioners – A minimum of 2 trained facilitators
  • Less than 1,000 parishioners – A minimum of 1 trained facilitator

Requirements: Facilitators should have attended the Protecting God's Children Program and completed a criminal history background check for the diocese, be at least 21 years of age, be available to schedule and facilitate trainings at various times to accommodate the work schedules of those in need of training including evenings and on weekends and be willing and comfortable to lead discussions, communicate information, complete paperwork and speak to groups of people on the topic of child sexual abuse. 1 ½ day training sessions is as follows:
