“May this process of the implementation of the revised Roman Missal be a time of deepening, nurturing, and celebrating our faith through our worship and the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy.”

  1. A message from Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Divine Worship explains the conference work on the Roman Missal.
  1. The development of the Roman Missal from Vatican Council II in 1963 to the present day. The home page gives a simple outline. Clicking on each item leads the reader to a fuller explanation.
  1. Below the picture of the missal, the reader may access the English translation of The Order of Mass I. It is copyright © 2006, 2008, International Committee on English in the Liturgy, Inc. [ICEL]. Note this is a study text and may not yet be used in the official liturgy of the Church. This text treats only those parts of the Mass that are common to all celebrations of the Liturgy of the Word and Eucharist. A key feature in this document is each footnote provides quotations from and references to the Bible as a help for liturgical catechesis.
  • Some examples of language changes are also given. This allows the reader to compare a current text with a proposed one.
