Wading Deeper is the annual summer workshop to engage catechumenate ministers in a deeper immersion in the vision, method, and ministry requires by the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for parish and diocesan ministry. It is cosponsored by the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois and the Diocese of Belleville. Credit is granted in the catechist certification process by each diocese.
Father Michael Clay will be the presenter for Wading Deeper 2011. He is a priest of the Diocese of Raleigh and a team member with the North American Forum on the Catechumenate. His book, Harvest for God Christian Initiation in Rural and the Small-Town Parish, published by Liturgy Training Publications, offers practical, step-by-step insights into implementing the catechumenate in a way that is faithful to the rite.
He will address the theology and the pastoral implications of Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reception into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church.
Registration information will be posted here when it is ready.
