Just5Days

Springfield, IL will host one of several Just5Day programs across the country.  Mark your calendars for July 16 - 20, 2012!!!  Registration details will be posted as soon as they are available.

Just5Days is a five-day experience of service, hands-on learning activities, prayer and liturgy, and community building designed for groups of middle school youth and their adult leaders from Catholic parishes and schools.  Just5Days is a program developed and operated by the Center for Ministry Development and is hosted in collaboration with the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois at Little Flower parish in Springfield.

Price for Just5Days: $??? per participant (to be announced)

Price includes lodginig and meals during your program week, as well as all of your work supplies. Travel is an expense of the parish or school. Each group must provide their own transportation to and from work sites.

Just5Days is just for middle schoolers
Youth participants--Just5Days is designed for youth who are entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grade. Those who are entering 6th grade are not eligible for the program. For those entering the 10th grade and above, consider attending a Young Neighbors in Action program.

Adult participants--One adult (25 years old or older) serves as the team leader. Additional adults must be 21 years old or older. You will need one adult for every five young people you bring. Teams with more than seven youth participants of both genders must have at least one male and one female adult in attendance and participating in Just5Days.

Daily programming is designed just for middle schoolers--lots of visual learning, hands-on activities, movie clips, small group projects, and discussions. Middle schoolers will learn about Catholic social teaching and the importance of justice, and they will have fun doing it.

Dynamic prayer services and liturgy engage young participants in full and active participation, making faith more tangible for them.

Skilled program staff guide the week and allow you to focus on your young people. The program staff includes a Program Director, Site Coordinator, and Prayer and Music Coordinator. All are trained professionals with years of experience working with youth.

Easy-to-use materials and resources guide you in preparing your parish or school team. Resources also help parents to engage in the preparation process and support their children upon their return.

Each participant receives a Just5Days t-shirt and water bottle.
