White Mass

Physicians, nurses, administrators, allied health providers and all others involved in the healing ministry are welcome to join Bishop Thomas John Paprocki in our Catholic expression of gratitude, during the Celebration of Mass, to thank God for the generous service by all members of the healing Community of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. The White Mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

A dinner reception and program with special speaker Father Michael Rozier, S.J.,with special speaker Father Michael Rozier, S.J.,Assistant Professor of Health Management & Policy and Health Care Ethics, Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice. Fr. Rozier is an engaging and powerful speaker who finds great joy in the ministry of helping people find the path that our loving God intends for them.

* White Masses — named for the white coats of the physicians — have traditionally been celebratedon or near October 18, the Feast of Saint Luke, the patron saint of physicians. White Masses honorall those who work in health care — from nurses and physicians to dietary staff and lab workers.
