Job Description

The Diocese of Springfield is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of the Office for Legal Services and Policy Development. The director  serves in the capacity of legal advisor for the diocesan bishop and other officials of the Diocesan Curia in basic matters of civil law regarding routine diocesan activities.  The position serves as Chair of the Policy Development Committee and is responsible for the development and approval of new diocesan policies and the modification of existing diocesan policies.  

Job Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school in the United States, and a license to practice law with admittance to the Illinois Bar.  One to two years of relevant work experience preferred.  Candidates must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the church with an understanding and acceptance of basic teachings of the Catholic Church.
