Father Frank Pavone, Prominent World Pro-Life Leader, Will Speak in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — The Diocese of Springfield in Illinois will present “Moved by Mercy” with powerful pro-life advocate Father Frank Pavone, Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Atrium, 524 East Lawrence in Springfield.  The program will begin at 8:45 a.m. following the regular 8 a.m. Mass at the cathedral.

Father Pavone, one of the world’s most prominent pro-life leaders, is National Director of Priests for Life, the largest pro-life ministry in the Catholic Church. He also serves as President of the National Pro-Life Religious Council, National Pastoral Director of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, and National Pastoral Director of Rachel’s Vineyard, the world’s largest ministry of healing after abortion.  The Vatican appointed Fr. Pavone to the Pontifical Academy for Life and to the Pontifical Council for the Family, which coordinates the pro-life activities for the Catholic Church. Father Pavone travels throughout the country preaching and teaching against abortion and produces programs regularly for religious and secular radio and television networks. Father Pavone has authored four books, Ending Abortion, Not Just Fighting It; Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day; Abolishing Abortion; and Proclaiming the Message of Life.

“We are blessed to have such a powerful advocate for life to be with us in Springfield especially at this time,” said Donna Moore, director of the Office for Pro-life Activities and Special Ministries for the Springfield diocese.

Following his presentation, Father Pavone will lead a prayer rally in front of the Springfield Planned Parenthood facility.

The Catholic Diocese of Springfield in Illinois is 128 parishes in 28 counties in central Illinois.
